Live Action

The Deadly Diamond (2007) - A short action film about a burglar who steals some diamonds, he gets chased and… well watch it yourself to see what happens!
Edited with Avid, with sound effects added in Audacity.

Fair trade Cotton (2006) - This was a competition that was coordinated by Videoschool, where 3 teams had to make a short film based on topics set by DFID over a weekend at the Greenbelt festival. It was judged by (amongst others) Nick Park (Wallace and Gromit)! I was part of a team of 6 people and our task was to make a short video about Fair trade cotton. I did some of the camerawork, including a few “vox-pops” (street interviews). Unfortunately my team didn’t win, but DFID must’ve liked it as they uploaded my team’s video to Youtube.

Freelance Video Editing

Cwmni Cofis Bach:

“Trwbl yn y Gwynt (Trouble in the wind) (2008) - 3 short video clips of around 2-3 minutes length each for projection to supplement an opera production. I was given several DVDs of archive newsreel footage and some royalty free footage to edit. I used Edius Neo for the first time on this project.

Anglesey Youth Theatre collaborations:

“Pry ar y wal” stage production video segments (2007) - I edited 4 clips of approximately 1 minute each for showing as part of one of the Youth Theatre’s productions. The footage was shot by the Youth Theatre, and I was given a rough guideline as to what style the editing needed to be. For this project I used Avid FreeDV, and also used Blender to achieve some of the more complex effects. My employers liked the end result so much that they asked me to edit their next project as well!!

“I Lawr y Lon Goch” short film (2007) - A short film in Welsh about the dangers of binge drinking (featured in The Chronicle). I edited down almost 2 hours of footage to the final length of approximately 15 mintues. I used Avid FreeDV for the editing and Audacity for the sound mixing. The employers were very pleased with the result, and it is to be released on DVD for circulation in schools primarily on Anglesey.

Mentrau Iaith Mon:

“DVD Busnesau” (2007) - DVD to encourage business owners in Wales to use both Welsh and English languages in their businesses. I used Avid FreeDV again for the editing, and for the output to DVD I used DVD Flick. The DVD was shown to several businesses and is now being shown in schools on Anglesey.
